Calico Hakuba

If you're looking for a big feed, look no further than Unjaune. The burgers here are massive, and also delicious! Located right across from the Happo Gondola, Unjaune is in an ideal location for lunch or after your shred. The bar here also serves up a wide variety of great value drinks and they host weekly parties which are always a hit.

Cherry Pub

Everybody loves a bit of pub grub and Cherry Pub in Echoland is the best place to fill up after a long day on the slopes. Get stuck into a big schnitty, try the sumptuous BBQ pork ribs, or get those hands dirty on some delicious buffalo wings. With an indoor fireplace and a large selection of drinks, Cherry Pub ticks the boxes

B.O.S

Bos is cosy and quaint, Japanese restaurant at the base of Echoland. They specialise in Okonomiyaki (Japanese savoury pancake) which is cooked on a hotplate in front of you. Aside from delicious food, the hospitality is second to none and really adds to an inclusive atmosphere. On a whole Bos is very good value for money. Don’t miss out!

Ramen, Gyoza, Beer

Takahashi-ke also known as Ramen, Gyoza, Beer, serves just that. This cozy little restaurant is one of the most popular spots in Echoland. They serve amazing homemade ramen and gyozas which can be washed down with a selection of drinks. With only a few tables there's always a queue but it's always worth the wait!

The Marillen Restaurant & Bar

You might be forgiven for thinking you are in the European Alps within the ski-in ski-out Marillen Hotel. They serve favourites such as cheesy fondue, steaks and grills, house-made sausages and schnitzels. It's also one of the best Après spots in Happo as you can ski down to the base of Nakiyama Slopes and enjoy german beers, mulled wine and more.

Blizzard

Blizzard is one of the most popular venues in Hakuba at all times of the day and is right across from the Happo Gondola. They serve delicious breakfasts and coffee from 7am, followed by wood-fired pizza and pasta throughout the day and into the night. Blizzard is also one of the best nightlife spots in town with DJs, live music and events throughout the week.

The Rabbit Hole

The Rabbit Hole is a hot spot at all times of the day! The Rabbit Hole also serves amazing breakfast in the mornings and brews (probably) the best espresso coffee in the valley. For lunch and dinner, the burgers here are a must try! It's also a great spot for a drink into the night with live music each week. Located steps away from the Sakka Lifts at Happo, it's a great spot to visit during your day skiing.

Mimi's

Mimi’s Restaurant, located inside the popular Phoenix Hotel in Wadano, is a true fine dining experience. Run by husband and wife team Kazu & Yuki Shinamoto, they bring a passion and focus to serving the highest quality food made from nothing but the best produce. The locally procured black pork is out-of-this-world while Yuki’s desserts will leave your taste buds in a spin.

Kikoya

Arguably the best sushi and sashimi in Hakuba, Kikyoya has long been a favourite with tourists and locals alike. Walls adorned in glowing reviews, a traditional tatami setting and a more than amiable host make Kikyoya a restaurant not to miss for any sushi and sashimi enthusiast. Grab a bench seat and watch the master prepare your sushi fresh, or grab a table and order a ‘party box’ for your group; Kikyoya won’t disappoint.

A quaint little Izakaya located on the main street of Echoland, Hie serves up a range of Japanese fare to suit almost every taste bud. Hakuba Aprés

Hakuba Aprés is Hakuba’s first (and only) daily on-snow aprés party. Nestled at the base of Nakiyama Slope (across from Marillen Hotel), it’s got live music, indoor and outdoor spots to chill, and vibes that kick inside as the sun sets, wrapping up at 8 pm.

The Beach Bar, which as you can guess from the name has a southern tropical vibe going on. Designed in the style of an ocean-side hut, the bar often holds beach-themed parties and has a Thai inspired menu. Beach Bar opens from 8pm and kicks on until late. The newly opened Holy Smokes is one of the hidden secrets of Hakuba. Hidden behind a certain vending machine door, head down into the bustling bar of Holy Smokes. With murals on the walls, neon lights and a cozy vibe, this small bar is always a good time. We definitely recommend checking out Holy Smokes, if you can find it...

HAKUBAR is a cosy Japanese bar in the heart of Happo Village. Head down the stairs (watch your head) and open up the door to a vibrant atmosphere. Mockingbird, a pub which will be buzzing on just about any night of the week, often with a mixture of locals and Westerners. The bar is creatively decorated with woodwork - there’s a large tree made of drift wood centered in the middle of the bar - and has a great selection of beer, wines and traditional Japanese cocktails plus their famous Ken Special!

Located in a convenient spot, next to Happo Info Centre and Lawsons, Lion Cafe is the perfect place to have a relaxing coffee and a bite to eat.
