The town of Banff is located in Banff National Park in Canada’s Alberta Province. When travelling to Banff, the best airport to fly into is Calgary International Airport located in Alberta Canada. Many North American and international airlines fly directly into Calgary International Airport making it easy to get here. From Calgary you then have the option of hiring a car or taking a shuttle bus to Banff
Car Hire
The TransCanada Highway is the route to take when making your way to Banff, taking roughly a 90 minute drive (140 kilometres). This is the same route if you are wanting to visit Lake Louise. This scenic drive is stunning as you pass through the mountainous town of Canmore and is extremely enjoyable. Please note, parking is limited in Banff.
When travelling by car be aware that Banff is a National Park and a Parks Pass is required to enter. A day pass or an annual Discovery Pass can be purchased. Park Passes are free for ages 17 and under. A Park Pass can be arranged at the gate or in advance online.
Shuttle Bus

For getting to the mountains each day Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise and Mt Norquay each offer free shuttle buses to the resorts from the town of Banff with your corresponding Ski Big3 Lift pass.

Getting Around Banff
The best way to see Banff is by foot as this is a small resort town that offers a stretch of restaurants and shops in close proximity to each other. However, at times the weather can prevent a casual stroll which is when the easy to use bus is a great option. Most accommodations also offer complimentary shuttle service to the town of Banff and ski areas.
