Kicking Horse Canada - Everything you need to know for your next Ski holiday

The resort Kicking Horse is a world-class hidden gem located 2.5-hours west of Calgary and 1.5 hours west of Banff. Situated between the Rocky Mountains and the Purcell in the heart of B.C. The most popular route for international travellers is to fly into Calgary and either drive to Kicking Horse Resort or alternatively catch one of the shuttle buses.

Car Hire

If hiring a rental car, this can be available at the Calgary Airport. The route you would take is 2.5 hours on the Trans Canada Highway 1 Westbound. This drive will take you through the beautiful Lake Louise and Golden. When you arrive into Golden you will need to take the turnoff to the resort and you’ll find Kicking Horse 14 km up the mountain.

Shuttle Bus

The shuttles from Calgary International Airport operate twice a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays) or on request. The Kicking Horse YYC Express Shuttle is a shared service between Brewster Transportation and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. If you are taking the shuttle please arrive at the desk to check in 10 minutes prior to departure.

Alternatively shuttles can be taken from the city of Calgary as well.

Golden Shuttle

The Golden Shuttle provides daily direct service from Calgary International Airport to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort during the December – March winter season. Get straight to the slopes with the only daily direct shuttle service connecting Calgary Airport with accommodation in Golden and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, British Columbia. Luggage is included at no additional cost, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the spectacular journey through the Canadian Rockies.

We booked through Anna O’Malley for our stay in Nozawa onsen Village in Japan. Seamless service, prompt, and pricing reasonable. The Shimataya View Hotel, was a lovely stay. Room size was large, great views, and Amazing service from Staff. Momoi and Eloisa couldn’t help enough- from dinner reservations to organising luggage to Tokyo. Property is older, though clean, well maintained. 10 min walk to slopes, 5 min walk to village centre. I recommend Mountain Watch, and this property. Photos are the view from our room.
