Sunshine Village Ski Resort

Sunshine offers an impressive 1,358 hectares of skiable terrain with 115 marked runs. The resort is serviced with 12 lifts of which 6 are high-speed quads. There is also a high speed gondola which is used to link the parking area to the ski areas, with a drop off/pick up at Goats Eye, and continuing on to Sunshine Village further up the mountain. Whilst you have to use the gondola to access the ski areas, Sunshine has an entertaining 'ski out' all the way to the parking lot.

The terrain spread is made up of 20% beginner, 55% intermediate, and 25% advanced/expert runs. Goats Eye Mountain is particularly popular for the more advanced/expert riders due to their predominantly black runs.

For the daredevils, there are extreme zones that require avalanche gear called Delirium Dive and Wild West. These areas can be closed for portions of the season due to conditions.

The snow is the high quality dry powder this part of the Rocky Mountains is renowned for. The ski resort also boasts an impressive average snowfall of up to 10 metres per year.

Lake Louise Ski Resort

Lake Louise offer a huge 1,700 hectares of terrain to be explore, making it the one of the largest ski resorts in Canada. The resort caters to all abilities, with intermediates in particular well serviced. Terrain split; Beginner 25%, Intermediate 45%, and Advanced/Expert 30%.

The resort is serviced by only 10 lifts, three of which are magic carpets but the locations of the lifts ensures you're ably to explore the terrain seamlessly. The resort itself consists of 3 main areas; the front side of the mountain which is great for beginners and intermediates, the Larch area which has a broad mix of terrain for all abilities, and the back face where you'll find powder bowls, chutes, and tree runs more suited to the advanced/expert riders.

There is also a varied terrain park to suit all levels with some big jumps suitable for the advanced shredders.

Norquay Ski Resort

Picturesque Norquay Ski Resort offers stunning views over Banff town centre with an enticing 77 hectares of terrain to explore. This intimate mountain is serviced by 6 lifts, and 60 varied runs. The terrain split is made up of 31% beginner runs, 25% intermediate, and 44% advanced/expert.

Norquay offers some decent night skiing and a terrain park that is also illuminated.

This resort does not boast a lot of powder as it only experiences on average about 3 metres of snowfall due to its elevation. As a result of the lack of regular snowfall, there is snowmaking across approximately 85% of the skiable terrain.
