Skiing with the family Q & A

Velvet took her two children Zac, 15 years old and Katie, 11 years old on a ski holiday to {{cta(’05dddd8d-b191-4ee1-b88e-f76a88b43a25′)}}, Japan. Velvet and her family jumped on a morning Japan Airlines flight direct from Sydney and in under 10 hours they landed in Tokyo. From the airport they were picked up directly via a mini van and taken to their on snow accommodation in Hakuba.

Velvet shares some of her families experiences in this short Q and A.

Why did you choose Japan? Others who had already been recommended Hakuba because of the reliable snow fall and reasonable pricing. (Not to mention it’s pretty easy to get to from Sydney.)

Where did you stay? We stayed at the Marillen Hotel. The hotel had fantastic mountain views and it was in a sensational ski in, out location.

What was the accommodation like? The rooms were basic – warm and comfortable. The Marillen wasn’t modern, but it had a traditional lodge feel to it. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and gave excellent service. The food was delicious – hat’s off to the Chef! We definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

What was the thing you liked most about Hakuba? The Skiing!!

Where and what did you eat? Mainly at the hotel because the chef’s food was so delicious, but we also at Japanese restaurants nearby in Happo. The quality of food was brilliant.

Did the skiing suit all family members? Yes! Beginners to advanced.

Describe some non skiing activities you enjoyed? The Snow Monkey Tour – it’s a must see. It was worth taking a day off skiing and wresting your muscles to see these beautiful animals in their natural environment. They’re only a couple hours from Hakuba and the kids loved the trip too.

Would you ski/holiday in Japan again? Yes!
