WHY Shiga Kogen FOR Schools

Shiga Kogen is a fantastic option for a school group as there is a huge selection of terrain and is relatively uncrowded. Plenty of open space, offering 21 mostly linked ski resorts across Joshinetsu National Park. Good dry powder can be found here and is a great destination to see real Japan and escape the westerners.

Shiga Kogen is also easily accessible from Tokyo, being located in the Nagano Prefecture.

A big advantage of staying at Shiga Kogen is your accommodation not only offers good value but you will get to enjoy a true ski in/ski out experience which is not the case in other resorts.

Shiga Kogen offers limited nightlife and restaurants which makes it a popular choice for school groups as you really don’t have to venture from your hotel in the evenings. The ski resort is based in a national park which results in a quieter relaxed vibe with little nightlife to attract party goers.
