As spring edges closer and the days stretch longer, Queenstown is gearing up to welcome spring skiing in full swing – with whispers of the season’s best snow still to come.

Starting 1 September 2025, Coronet Peak and The Remarkables switch into spring mode, offering special passes that make it easier (and cheaper) to chase those late-season laps.

Why spring ski? Think mellow crowds, softer snow, playful corn, and the occasional surprise dump. Add in long afternoons, a buzzing après scene, and that relaxed spring vibe, and it’s the perfect time to squeeze in a few more days on the mountain.

Whether carving up The Remarkables or cruising Coronet Peak, there’s plenty of terrain to enjoy, all without the mid-winter crowds.

Four days and three nights of music, snow, après, and adventure. Ride all morning, après across four stages at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables, then finish the night at the main arena.

Remarkables 40th Spring Carnival – 26-28 September

Remarks turn 40, and they’re celebrating in style with a retro-packed carnival weekend. Expect family fun, throwback ski events, scavenger hunts, the OOSC Retro Run, and a lakeside BBQ at Alta plus much more.

We booked through Anna O’Malley for our stay in Nozawa onsen Village in Japan. Seamless service, prompt, and pricing reasonable. The Shimataya View Hotel, was a lovely stay. Room size was large, great views, and Amazing service from Staff. Momoi and Eloisa couldn’t help enough- from dinner reservations to organising luggage to Tokyo. Property is older, though clean, well maintained. 10 min walk to slopes, 5 min walk to village centre. I recommend Mountain Watch, and this property. Photos are the view from our room.
