WHY Whistler FOR Schools

The legendary resort of Whistler Blackcomb is a must for anyone with a passion for snow adventure, stunning scenery, an abundance of fantastic hotels and dining options, plus a host of off-piste activities topped up with the most welcoming Canadian hospitality.

The largest ski resort in North America by area and the venue of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics is a 2 hour scenic drive from Vancouver International Airport on Highway 99 known as the ‘Sea to Sky Highway’.

The vast terrain of the two mountains, Whistler & Blackcomb was linked together in 2008 by the impressive ‘Peak 2 Peak Gondola’, a 4.4km ride of 11 minutes is still the world’s longest unsupported lift of its kind and allows access to the terrain of both mountains on the same day.

Whistler Blackcomb Snow School is known to be one of the best ski schools in North America with a team of professional instructors from all over the world specialising in teaching all ages and abilities.

Whistler Village itself is a beautiful mountain resort, stylish, clean and pedestrianised with so much to see and do and really is a destination in itself.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1

Travel to Whistler via Vancouver
Make your way to the airport and board your flight bound for Vancouver, Canada. Upon arrival, meet your coach to transfer you to your accommodation in Whistler.

Day 2

Whistler (B)
Make your way to the rental shop and get fitted out with your skis/snowboard sets. After getting fitted out with your rentals, meet your instructors for your first morning group lessons, split according to skill levels. Lift Passes included. Enjoy the afternoon exploring the slopes with your teachers.

Day 3

Whistler (B)
Meet your instructors for your morning group lessons, lift passes included. Then enjoy the afternoon exploring the slopes with your teachers.

Day 4

Whistler (B)
Meet your instructors for your morning group lessons, lift passes included. Then enjoy the afternoon exploring the slopes with your teachers.

Day 5

Whistler (B)
Rest day at the teachers’ discretion.
Recommended activities; Pre arranged group visit to Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, Ice Skating at Whistler Olympic Plaza, etc.

Day 6

Whistler (B)
Enjoy the day exploring the slopes with your teachers. Lift Passes included.

Day 7

Whistler (B)
Enjoy the day exploring the slopes with your teachers. Lift Passes included.

Day 8

Vancouver to Home (B)
Check out and meet your coach to transfer you to Vancouver Airport. Board your flight to take you home.

We booked through Anna O’Malley for our stay in Nozawa onsen Village in Japan. Seamless service, prompt, and pricing reasonable. The Shimataya View Hotel, was a lovely stay. Room size was large, great views, and Amazing service from Staff. Momoi and Eloisa couldn’t help enough- from dinner reservations to organising luggage to Tokyo. Property is older, though clean, well maintained. 10 min walk to slopes, 5 min walk to village centre. I recommend Mountain Watch, and this property. Photos are the view from our room.
