Hokkaido Powder Belt Tour - Furano to Asahikawa

Score Japan’s deepest powder with expert local guides and serious flexibility to chase the best snow. P/P

5th - 15th Feb, 2026

Group Tour in partnership with ARRIVAL Travel.

Want to really travel off-piste? This one’s for you. Chase Japan’s world-famous powder across Hokkaido’s wild north on this advanced-level Japan snow escape.

Spend five nights in Furano and five in Asahikawa, exploring the legendary Powder Belt with a five-day lift pass, plus three bonus resort days around Asahikawa. Each day, your Level 5 avalanche-certified Kiwi and Aussie guides will hunt down the best lines and conditions in real-time – no fixed plans, just pure chase.

You’ll stay twin-share with daily brekkie, plus a welcome and farewell dinner to bookend the trip. This is a flexible, powder-filled mission built for experienced skiers and riders who live for the deep stuff.

1

Day 1, 5th Feb

Warm Japanese Welcome

Arrive in Furano at your own pace. Settle into your twin-share digs and get to know your crew over a local welcome dinner. Guides will run through the trip plan, snow forecast and resort options. It’s a chilled first night to meet your powder posse, check gear and get hyped for what’s ahead. No riding today – just fuel up, rest up and get ready for ten big days chasing that sweet sweet powder.

2

Day 2, 6th Feb

Explore Furano

The powder chase begins. After breakfast, hop in the private shuttle and head to one of the local resorts. Since it’s your first day, we’ll most likely stay local and explore Furano. But your guides are watching weather patterns to score you the deepest turns. Expect leg-burning tree runs, wide bowls and Japow galore. After a full day, head back to Furano to refuel and maybe hit an onsen. This trip runs on stoke and day one delivers.

3

Day 3, 7th Feb

Chase Those Conditions

Wake up to another day of guided riding. You might return to yesterday’s zone if it’s still firing or chase new snow elsewhere. It’s all about flexibility. No fixed schedule, just the best conditions possible. Guides will keep everyone scoring and safe, pointing out sidecountry lines if the group’s keen. Back in Furano, explore izakayas or get that ramen fix.

4

Day 4, 8th Feb

Deep Into The Powder Belt

More deep turns, more line-hunting. Conditions call the shots, so whether it’s Furano, Kamui, or another hidden gem, you’ll be where the snow’s best. Expect playful terrain, steep stashes and snow so deep you forget what skis look like. In the evening, soak in a traditional onsen or toast a Hokkaido brew with new mates.

5

Day 5, 9th Feb

Final Day In Furano

Final day based in Furano. Use what you’ve learned from your guides to pick your lines and send it with confidence. After riding, pack up and prep to transfer to Asahikawa tomorrow. Make your last night in Furano count by recalling your peaks and pits to date over a few ice cold beers.

6

Day 6, 10th Feb

Out To Asahikawa

Transfer day. After breakfast, check out of Furano and jump into the Hiace, it’s time to make the one-two hour journey to your new base: Asahikawa. Use today to rest the legs – or not. If you want, we can still hit the slopes en route if the weather aligns. Guides will pick a resort stop at to break up the journey. By late arvo, check in at your new digs in Asahikawa, a bigger city with a proper local buzz. Sushi, sake, snow – life’s good.

7

Day 7, 11th Feb

New Base, New Mountains

With Asahikawa as your HQ, hit up resorts like Pippu or even head toward Kurodake if conditions are fire. Your guides will lead the way. Refuel with Hokkaido specialties and maybe hit a local bar after dark.

8

Day 8, 12th Feb

Another Big Day

The local powder is the gift that keeps on giving, and your guides know where the wind-loaded zones and secret tree stashes are. Carve new lines, find your flow, and ride hard. Nights in Asahikawa mean more food options and local energy, so explore if you’ve got the legs for it.

9

Day 9, 13th Feb

Sidecountry Adventures

It might be nearing the end, but the stoke stays sky-high. Conditions permitting, you might venture further afield to lesser-known resorts or go deep into sidecountry. These are the kind of runs that get talked about for years. Keep the camera handy – or don’t. Some lines are better left just for the memory.

10

Day 10, 14th Feb

Final Send

Last full day to get after it. Whether you want mellow laps, a sidecountry mission or one last big leg burner, your guides will line it up. Wrap things up tonight at the farewell dinner – share stories, raise a glass and relive the week. By now, you’ve earned your turns and then some.

11

Day 11, 15th Feb

The Big Goodbye

The trip ends after breakfast. No riding today. Say goodbye to the crew, swap socials and make your own way from Asahikawa. Legs sore, heart full, camera roll stacked – that’s how it should be.
