Asahikawa Powder Week
ENQUIRE NOWAsahikawa Powder Week
One week. Five guided days. Endless powder potential in Japan’s far north. P/P
15th Feb - 22nd Feb, 2026
Group Tour in partnership with ARRIVAL Travel.
Spend five adrenaline-charged days chasing Hokkaido’s deepest powder across resorts like Kamui, Asahidake, Pippu and Kurodake. With Asahikawa as your base, this trip is all about flexibility – your guides pick the best spot each day based on the conditions, so no two days are ever the same.
You’ll stay at Hotel Route-Inn Grand Asahikawa Ekimae with breakfast each morning, plus a group welcome and finale dinner to round out the trip. A five-day lift pass, private van transport and pro guides mean all you need to focus on is perfecting that technique and chasing the next face shot.
Built for seasoned riders with a hunger for powder and a love of local culture – this one’s the real deal. Let’s get it.
Day 1, 15th Feb
Asahikawa Arrival
Arrive in Asahikawa at your own pace and check into Hotel Route-Inn Grand Asahikawa Ekimae. Meet your crew over a casual welcome dinner and get briefed on the week ahead. Your guides will lay out the plan based on the latest conditions, and you’ll get to know the legends you’ll be riding with. This trip is all about flexibility, so come with an open mind and powder-ready legs.
Day 2, 16th Feb
Warm Up Day
Jump right into your first guided day. After breakfast, hop in the private van and head to whichever resort is serving the best turns. Could be Kamui’s tree runs, or maybe an Asahidake sidecountry sesh. Your Level 5 NZ guide and Aussie host will show you the goods. After skiing, swing by a local onsen (optional) or explore Asahikawa’s ramen spots. Sleep well. Tomorrow, we do it again.
Day 3, 17th Feb
More Snow, More Lines
The local gems just keep on giving. Depending on the conditions, you might venture into Pippu for mellow pow laps or level up with Kurodake’s steep terrain. Your guides make the call. This is about quality turns, not clock-watching. Wrap up with an onsen or a drink with your new powder fam.
Day 4, 18th Feb
Explore Further
Head up high if weather allows – Asahidake or even backcountry bootpacks if the group’s game. If it’s storming, dive into the trees at Kamui or another local secret spot. Expect shorter lift lines and long powder lines. Then, maybe hit a local izakaya or soak sore legs with a cold beer and hot bath.
Day 5, 19th Feb
Rest Day
Today you call the shots. Take a cultural pause: hit the local sake brewery, explore the city, or just sleep in. Want to ride instead? Book an extra day with the guides (added cost) and go chase that sixth pow day. Either way, you’re winning.
Day 6, 20th Feb
Back On The Snow
Hit the best resort of the day with fresh legs and renewed hype. The crew’s dialled now, so expect more flow and deeper lines. Maybe return to a favourite resort or go rogue into lesser-known terrain. With private transport and sharp guiding, the day is yours to send.
Day 7, 21st Feb
Final Lines
It’s your last shot at Japow glory, so bring the heat. The guides will read the storm cycles and line up something memorable. Go out with style: deep turns, crew stoke and that final “this is why we came” moment. Cap it off with a celebratory dinner followed by a late-night city crawl.
Day 8, 22nd Feb
Goodbyes
The trip ends after breakfast. Say goodbye to the crew and make your own way out. Phone full of photos and a brain loaded with fresh snow memories. See you next season.
