Experience & Knowledge

Operating for over 16 years in the snow travel industry, curating packages to destinations all over the world, we have naturally collected a team of passionate snow enthusiasts along the way. Coming from different areas, our team pride themselves on offering the highest level of service and an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

Many of our team have lived and worked in resorts all around the world, from Canada and the USA to Japan and New Zealand. This gives them an extensive knowledge of the destinations we have packages for – there’s always someone who knows the resort you’re after.

Travelling is part of our job. Every year the team heads over to Japan for anything from a few weeks to a few months, spending the majority of our time in Hakuba and working from the Happo office. This gives us the opportunity to be present on the ground, experience Japan firsthand, meet our customers, visit the suppliers, and dine in as many restaurants as we can.

Hakuba isn’t all we know either. Each year we are given the opportunity to visit new destinations, familiarising ourselves with resorts, activities, and facilities. These trips enable us to support you and your travels with real first-hand experience.

With offices now based in Queenstown (NZ), Sydney (AU), and Hakuba (Japan), we are well-placed to support every aspect of your journey.

Competitive Pricing

A common misconception is travel agents add a fee to their packages – how else would we make money? We actually receive a commission from suppliers, meaning prices are the same as if you purchased directly with the hotel, transfer, or tour company. In fact, our prices are often better than what you will find yourself, this is because we have spent years developing close relationships with suppliers.

Our product team travels all over the world to meet with suppliers and negotiate the best deals to provide you with an unforgettable snow holiday.

Love Of Snow

All our staff have a genuine love for the snow with each of us having spent considerable time on the mountain at many of the destinations we are selling. While we haven’t been to every resort if it’s on our website there is a high chance one of us has travelled there.

Most of us have even lived in the snow at some stage. A number of our team grew up skiing the powdery peaks in New Zealand and Australia before heading further afield to the likes of the Swiss Alps, Hakuba, and Banff. Anna, Adam, and Justine have all been lucky enough to call Canada home at some stage, living in Vancouver, Banff, Whistler, and Fernie and travelling further afield to experience other Canadian and US resorts.  Our director Quentin has been travelling to Japan since 2005 when he brought his first tour group over, he now brings his family over every season.

Create A Community

We aim to offer an unforgettable experience, from the initial stages of enquiry, through to in-resort hosting, and post-trip follow-ups.

There is a Mountainwatch Travel Facebook page which we invite you all to join, it offers a place to connect with one another, ask questions, and provide information on deals and events. We aim to build lasting relationships with our customers, as evident in the number of people we have coming back each year.

Our community is unique, with people from all walks of life and from all over the world. Over the years we have been lucky enough to book trips for world-class athletes, well-known musicians, and everyone in between. Last season we were lucky enough to host all the artists from the inaugural Snow Machine Festival.

It also gives us an opportunity to hear your feedback, which allows us to continuously improve our services. Mountain Guiding in Hakuba is offered four days a week at some of our favourite resorts.
