How To Get To Mt Ruapehu

Mt Ruapehu is located in the middle of New Zealand’s North Island Island and is located just over 4 hours from Auckland. Flying into Auckland International Airport is the easiest way to access Mt Ruapehu, with direct flights available from many cities around the world. Mt Ruapehu is also an easy drive from Wellington and other cities in New Zealand’s North Island. We recommend hiring a car in Auckland and then driving to Mt Ruapehu or alternatively there are shuttle bus services available from neighbouring towns including Ohakune and Taupo.
