  Iwate Snow Festival

  One of Tohoku’s five ‘Great Snow Festivals’, the Iwate Snow Festival is held at Koiwai Farm in early February. There are many snow sculptures, large and small and you can also have fun sledding down a large snow slide, riding a horse sleigh, or riding a snow train. Warm up with the delicious food options available, from local Koiwai meat products to soups and amazake (a sweet drink made from fermented rice).

  Takakura Onsen

  The stunning outdoor Takakura Hot Spring gets its healing water from one of Japan’s certified Hot Spring Heritage sites. The perfect spot to relax and unwind after a day on the slopes in winter or a day on the golf course in summer.
