Season Update from Hakuba

Above – update: Liquid staff enjoying the powder at Cortina February 21st.

Hakuba has been getting the goods lately with almost daily top ups of fresh snow and plenty of days with nice clear skies and cool and crisp temperatures. Snow forecasts have been consistently under predicting the falls which makes the town smile. As per usual there truly is something for everyone here. The long intermediate groomed slopes of Happo One are in fantastic condition, the park at Hakuba 47 is smooth with plenty of features and the tree runs at Cortina keep giving and giving. However with all this snow the back country has been a little unstable with most opting to stay in-resort until it gets a bit safer in the high-risk high-reward terrain.

Hot tip for the 2013/14 season – come in late Feb if you can! Cheap packages and most importantly no crowds, giving you easy access to slopes, restuarants, bars and day tours without having to worry about advance bookings or not having a place to stand at the bar. {{cta(‘8cedd87d-4ec6-4ec2-adf8-97ee357746eb’)}}
